When you ask a photographer to take your picture, you're asking for quite a lot of work and access to a lot of rather expensive equipment.  In my pricing, I take in consideration my time, my ability, and my equipment.  I spend a lot of time working on each session I do even before I meet up with my clients.  There is a lot of work that goes into attending to client requests, finding locations, prepping equipment, and gathering inspiration.  During the shoot, I'm juggling the client(s), the available light, the temperament of the weather and my camera.  After the shoot, I'm working hard to find the best images out of probably hundreds and then editing them so that client satisfaction can be at its highest.   This post-process takes days, not minutes.
So when you ask a photographer to take your picture and you take a look at their prices, realize that the price they are asking for reflects hours upon hours of work, possibly years of experience, and a tiny piece of their soul.

Black and white half hour mini session:  $45 for 5 images ~ $65 for 10 images

Engagements:  $150 for 15 images ~ $175 for 20 images ~  $200 for 25 images

Senior portraits / missionary portraits:  $100 for 10 images ~  $125 for 15 images ~  $150 for 20 images  ~  $175for 25 images

Headshots half hour mini session for personal use:  $55 for 5 images ~ $75 for 10 images

Family session one-hour:  $150 for 15 images ~ $175 for 20 images ~ $200 for 25 images
A family session would include shots of the whole family as well as individual portraits and a few different groupings of all family members.  Please note this session is not for multi-family pictures.  Family sessions are for one family, not several families.  I do not do reunion type sessions where there are multiple families involved, but know several photographers that do and can refer to.)

 

Kids one-hour session (Price listed is for one child. Please add $10 for each additional child):  $75 for 10 images ~ $100 for 15 images

 

Lifestyle Newborn session: $150 for 15 images ~ $175 for 20 images

These kind of newborn sessions are less posed and capture the baby in their natural environment with mom and dad and siblings. 

**Note:  Though I have in the past, I do not do typical newborn sessions, the ones with props and backdrops.  I prefer lifestyle sessions where everything is more real and you get to see the newest days of a new baby and their family.   Should you desire one of those typical newborn sessions, I can refer you to many talented newborn photographers.   

 

Birth Story session:  (only available in summer months) $150 for 20 images ~ $175 for 25 images ~ $200 for 30 images

(This is a type of session where the photographer is present for different parts of the birth experience.  Based on your own comfort level, you can request I be there for whatever part of the birth experience if you feel comfortable with.  There are lots of options, so if you have questions, please contact me.  This type of session usually requires a large amount of time since babies don't really stick to schedules and so it's important to plan out when you'd like the photographer to be present.  For example, if you spend 15 hours in the labor portion of your birth experience, you may just ask the photographer to come take a few pictures of the labor part and then have them come back later when you're actually pushing or once the baby is delivered.  You decide the moments you want captured and I'm more than willing to sit down with you and help you decide.)

 

Lifestyle Newborn and Birth Story:  $250 for 20 images ~ $275 for 25 images ~ $300 for 30 images

(Normally the combined price of a Newborn session and a Birth Story session would be $250.  So there are some savings if you choose to combine sessions and get the whole birth and newborn experience documented.)

Commerical/Promotional Photography:  $100/hour of shooting and editing.  Please contact me for further pricing and licensing information.

(This type of photography is contracted in order to provide a business with photos they can use on their website, fliers, promotional items, billboards, brochures, etc.)

 

 

Extra half-hour of shooting added onto any session: Price increases by 20%
